Join Lexus drivers, put the vin number in, and you can see the full dealer service history. This is true for any Lexus.

Don't forget to delete the car from your profile if you do not purchase it as it will assign the car to you.

Just signed up on there. Damn, it's been dealer serviced since new. There are 13 pages of records going back to 1997. All just normal routine things it appears. Even looks like they had the dealership detailing it every six months, which may account for the condition.

I'll keep searching around though. I doubt at it's listed price it will get much attention. Sub 4k would be cool. My reasoning for looking for cheaper/higher mileage ones is simply that I have other cars for weekend use, but want something that rides nicer than the Scion I bought for getting around. I mean, it's great it gets 30mpg and all, but I really hate how flimsy it feels. I know the Lexus won't handle like a BMW or anything, but the solid feeling and quietness goes a long way. Just looking at the threads on here, it seemed like there are tons of owners over 200k. There don't appear to be many good ones up for sale in my area, but I'm in no rush. I can be picky. Seems like just going off of CL listings (I know listed price in no way reflects sale price), that prices are a lot higher than what I'm seeing on theads on this forum. It's not so much that I can't spend more, it's just at that point I start thinking I could just deal with what I have and spend the rest on racing motorcycles etc.

200k miles is the magic number where people loose interest in a car. Dealer knows that, so he got it for next to nothing (if it was a trade-in, then they just calculated that into the price and got it for literally nothing). That car is way over 200k, so I would keep looking or get it for dirt cheap. Besides with that mileage, there are many things that can go wrong, and even if you do them yourself, they cost a pretty penny.

I would stick to mileage below 200k, way below 200k.

don't spend the last $2000 of your car budget, as you will need tires, timing belt serviced and all kinds of things within the first 6 months - put $2K aside, and then go shopping!
