Welcome to Club Lexus! Please search. There is lots of info on this subject.

Try Lextreme also. That site is big on FI on the 1UZ platform.

I used to know a few people on the cressida message boards who had supercharged 1UZ transplants in their cars. They are usually pretty quick to show their stuff off. So, you could track them down on youtube and they would probably be willing to tell you all about what they needed to do as far as the electronics go

You will need a complete engine management setup to run forced induction on an LS400. There is no way to tune or modify the stock ecu.

I've read that you can run a rising rate fpr with the stock ECU, and it will handle anything up to 7-8psi. You are right about the ECU, but for low boost applications you can also just run a safc. Maybe not the best choice for tuning but for a simple (low boost) setup it would work just fine. It wouldn't let you adjust timing, just fuel. But the LS's run on the extreme "safe rich" side from the factory. So you COULD lean it out a little and still be fairly safe.

this information was valid maybe 15 or 20 years ago, but today we have these things called piggyback ECUs which are FAR more reliable and tunable than rising rate FPRs alone.

an A'pexi SAFC neo or AEM F/IC will work great for forced induction tuning.

I agree, and was just stating what I read. That's why I mentioned the safc. If I were to go boost, for budget reasons I would choose the Apexi SAFC for sure. I think the AEM and Megasquirt can get pretty pricey.

F/IC is better since you get timing control, and not overly expensive (i think you're thinking of the EMS, which is a fulll standalone, not piggyback).
