93 ls400 turbo or s/charge
anyone had experience boosting these motors? whats the most cost effectuve way anf can u get away without replacing the ecu not really loiking for massive power at the moment just want to di simething diff

I used to know a few people on the cressida message boards who had supercharged 1UZ transplants in their cars. They are usually pretty quick to show their stuff off. So, you could track them down on youtube and they would probably be willing to tell you all about what they needed to do as far as the electronics go

I've read that you can run a rising rate fpr with the stock ECU, and it will handle anything up to 7-8psi. You are right about the ECU, but for low boost applications you can also just run a safc. Maybe not the best choice for tuning but for a simple (low boost) setup it would work just fine. It wouldn't let you adjust timing, just fuel. But the LS's run on the extreme "safe rich" side from the factory. So you COULD lean it out a little and still be fairly safe.

an A'pexi SAFC neo or AEM F/IC will work great for forced induction tuning.
