Default 1992 LS400 ABS issues (or not!)

Hello my friends,

I have a 1992 LS400 with 320,000 KM on the clock, last week the ABS light came on and the car started to drive rough, my LS is without the stability control. what could be the reason for this?

is it the ABS module? what should I check?

my ABS module carries this number 44510-50010 which is available in eBay for around $45 but since I'm not in the US and shipping for that this thing is very expensive due to its weight, I'm wondering if I can dismantle the one in my car and try to repair it. I read that the brushes in the motor are a weak point. have anyone tried this?

What do you think guys.

before you do all that, verify the vacuum line to the booster is intact.

Checked the air lines and found ok. Trying a locally found ABS actuator today, hope it fix the problem.

ABS problems are commonly caused by bad wheel sensors more often then not.

When does the ABS light come on? during the initial startup procedure? or after you have started moving?

After 30 seconds of putting it on D the ABS yellow light comes on.

I checked the wheels sensors and all found ok.

Just tried the car after installing the replacement ABS actuator, no ABS alarm anymore

But fan clutch is stuck now and needs servicing which hopefully will need some silicon oil only

Also the heater valve will be done

OK, the complete fan clutch needed replacement, had to buy a new one a fix it there.

I hope the ABS actuator serves for long to justify the investment

Groovy! have you had the chance to check and see if the ABS works correctly?

To tell you the truth i didn't feel any difference in the brake before or after the repair, but after replacing the actuator the ABS dash warning is gone so I assume it's OK now.
