Default new to 95 LS400

Hello - man am I excited to get going on my new LS400 project. I have a question though - my rear windows go down at an angle. Instead of disappearing completely into the door, there's a wedge of glass (think triangle) left sticking up. Both doors are the same, so I'm not sure if this is correct.

Thanks

Thanks. I wouldn't have guessed that, but thanks.

Anyone modified this?

Look at the door and than at the window glass. See the size? See the pivot for the glass? That's about as far as they could fit it down Ito the door. Looks cool as hell anyway.

My kids laughed when they first saw mine go down.

Mine is a 94, and same thing. I had to replace the window motors all around and was surprised when I first opened ghe rear windows. But after looking at the wheel wells I figured it out.

It's because its just one big window, and there is not enough room for it to roll down all the way in the back portion of the door, due to the wheel well shaping of it. So they designed it to open the way it does. A much better option than just having a window that barely rolls down halfway before it stops! (like on Ford Contours, among others...)

That's one thing I really like about the LS430.
Because the rear window has a small triangular rear section, the main section rolls down all the way.

i think you broke it

JK! Yes the rears only go down that much and leave an awkward portion up due to the rear door design. I've grown to like it over time haha. At first I didn't and everyone thought my windows were broken.

it is also a safety feature so kids don't have a large opening to jump out from, or so they marketed it this way LOL!
