So I'm sure you all are aware of the early 95's doing the jerking thing when you abruptly let off the gas above 45 MPH, in which the solution is to replace the ECU with a later one with revised firmware. But after doing some searching and seeing nothing regarding it... i have to ask, What about the Dash pot??

It's job is to hold the throttle open slightly and then ease off to the closed position for emissions purposes.... and I know the Dashpots on the other old Toyotas I have owned didn't work as the FSMs described.... So it makes me wonder....

The cars didn't do this Jerking thing when they were new, obviously.. only years and years later down the line.... perhaps when the dashpots ceased to function?

Sounds ridiculous, I know, i sound as if i am trying to undermine the Engineers overseas, and i am not saying that there is not fault with the original ECUs ,but what anomoly causes this problem to spring up 18 years down the line? perhaps a new dashpot would alleviate the problem to a certain degree by keeping the throttle from slamming shut?

The ECUs firmware is just that, firmware, it shouldn't change unless someone plugs in and dicks with it.....

But then again My Escalade needed to have new firmware installed into the memory seat computer, becuase the seat controls were doing the opposite from what they should of been doing when i first bought it.... so it DEFFINETLY can happen!! Just thinking out loud.....
