Is it possible to keep the stock cassette player and install an after market MP3/CD Player into the dash?
I ask because it looks like there wouldn't be enough space without sacrficing something.
This would be on any of the models between 1990-1995

Why would you want to keep the cassette player? And yes you could but youd need to make a hole in the dash or mount it in the glove box. Def not going where the oem radio is though w.o removing it.

i enjoy listening to music through cassttes, which is why i wouldn't want to get rid of it.

Get a normal aftermarket radio with a 1/8" stereo auxilary in jack and then get a good quality walkman that won't skip and plug it into the aux jack...

just buy an aftermarket head unit they make aftermaket tape deck that you can install in the glove box to hide the ugly thing
