The screen works when you touch it but the screen is white. Does anyone have a solution to this? 99 LS, thanks

The white screen means that there is no drive signal to LCD cells. It may be caused by the failed driver or the failed DC supply circuit which supply the DC to the driver.

I don't remember the detail of those circuits but what I would try is to check the SMD fuse on the board.

ive had the same issue in my 98 for about a year now. screen is white 100% of the time but it still responds to touch. I think im just going to purchase a non-nav hvac panel. I dont really listen to the radio or cds in the car anyways.

My 2000 LS-400 displays this behavior, during the colder months of the year. We live in the deep south, so it's not that often. After the car warms up to operating temperature (about the time the heater comes on), I find that I can shut the car off in the normal manner, take the key out, wait 5 or so seconds, re-start the car, and the screen behaves normally. Any idea what may be causing this? Remedy(s)?

That's a typical symptom of a failing DC-DC converter circuit in the navigation unit. It is mostly caused by failing electrolytic capacitors used there.

Electrolytic capacitors decrease the capacitance when cold. As those capacitors age, the capacitance decreases in accordance with the Arrhenius equation and your type of problem tends to be caused because the capacitance becomes already low enough to have a problem. A skilled guy would be able to fix it simply finding failed capacitors and replacing them. A

a picture is missing but backlight is present (white screen)
i do repair this trouble about 4 years (wright post on russian forum)

now i do repair by full change a internal parts (graphic controller and lcd) on new version (led lcd and new pcb with 2av and rgbs inputs)
in this case white screen trouble is missing forever and add more functions (rearview camera and video input for multimedia player) as upgrade after repair
