New member intro.
Did not see a dedicated introduction section so I thought I'd post here. I am from Miami, Fl and recently acquired a 1993 LS400. One owner vehicle with 113k. It was very well taken care of with a clean title. It is completely stock. Purchased the car for 800 cash. It does have a slipping transmission where it engages reverse and it has to be revved high for it to start moving. Only other issue is the blacked out cluster. I purchased the lex with intentions of replacing the transmission outright and would be doing the labor myself. No biggie.

Welcome to CL, you'll find a lot of info, as well as nice people who can assist. I would assume you've already checked out the FAQ that's "sticky'd" at the top of the list of threads And good find, for the price it sounds like a pretty good deal, though I kind of wonder how far the transmission would set you back, though I'm sure by the end of the rebuild, you would've saved a considerable amount of money. Anywho, you should post pictures some time :3 UCF10s are wonderful

Congrats on the buy! I have a 93 too and love it.
If you plan on doing the work yourself, you might want to check out LexLS.com There is a great transmission tutorial on there that has some good pictures and info. Atleast you could get a good idea of what you will be in for.

Sweeet. Definitely will check out the site. Was looking into an awtec rebuilt trans. Apparently they are part of Aisin-Wagner. I would do the rebuild myself, I'm a Uti grad but I'd rather just replace it. I have a feeling the solenoids are shot. I'll know for sure by next week and post my findings. Car was so taken care of that I couldn't pass it up.

Welcome and sounds like a great deal... I purchased my '93 about three years ago with a few less miles, but paid almost 4 times that... but then it was in great shape, older lady, one owner and didn't need a tranny. I have newer LS's... but enjoy the ride/comfort/seating of the '93 the most. Enjoy and hope the tranny swap goes well for you.

Appreciate it fellas. Not much progress because of work, but I did suscribe to alldata. Yesterday I did notice that the n, d,2, and l don't light up on the dash but park and reverse do. Noticed it while I attempted to pull tranny codes with the o/d which isn't lighting up either. Im going to print out the wiring diagrams and trace all the circuits. Reverse works and the car needs to be revved high to get it to move. At around 10 mph it engages and it also downshifts. I dont think the clutch packs are gone. Fluids were perfectly fine also.

Quick update and a question. I got the cluster repaired by bba reman... excellent turnaround. Installed and everything works perfect. The transmission needs to be replaced. I found a transmission but it says 90-94. Are there any differences between the 93-94 trans and 90-92?
