Default Broken spark plug boot in cylinders 3,6,&7

LSCowboy.....and Forum...grabbed a 12" pair of needle nose pliers to pull out the broken spark plug boots......fail!! The previous boots were made of plastic. Its now so brittle, that everytime I attempt to grab them, they break into pieces. My next solution is to use a long screwdriver and hammer to break the rest of the plastic boots up from around the spark plug. Then vacuum out each cylinder or blow the debris out with an air gun. Then remove the spark plugs.......suggestions?

i'd avoid using the hammer but a long screw driver or a pick/awl would work to break up the rest of the boot before vacuuming it all out!
just make sure you get it all out before you remove the plugs
blasting some compressed air down there with a keyboard cleaner(if you don't have a compressor while sucking with the vacuum would also work if you do not have a super powerful vac.
Just go slow and be methodical and try to avoid snapping off the end of the plug!

no, they probably WERE rubber. but if you heat cycle rubber enough combined with a little petroleum contamination you will basically get something like plastic in time....
