Default Best $12 I ever spent in my life... [BT OBDII Scanner]

Amazon Amazon

Order one last Friday and got it today (Prime account free 2-day shipping).

Paired right up to my Android phone -- no issues there.

I can't wait to play with it some more for the days to come.

Its a must have if you dont have one.

Torque app is free for the lite version.

I feel so dumb that I'm just learning about this neat little device. I apologize if this has been posted before.

I completely forgot about this app- both of my other cars are pre-96 so they are on OBDI -- I guess now that I have an OBD II car I may need to check this out.

hmm the reviews doesnt seem to agree a lot. Looks like majority have complaints and do not look satisfy . Dont know i think i will pass or will wait...
Does this allow to change car settings?

this is only useful as a slow datalogger/Codescanner. It does NOT write to the ECU or access the proprietary toyota settings.

not sure what you are reading, but I cannot remember another Android app with as high of a rating as 4.8

I believe he is referring to the item reviews on amazon...

generic ELM scantools generally are very hit or miss.

The code scanning ability alone for $12 is a no brainer. The rest of the features are just for visual pleasure.

Have any of you tried the dash command app? Is it able to write to the ECU or access the proprietary toyota settings?

nothing but the toyota techstream software the dealerships use can write to the ECU.

Not bad for $12.00 The negative feedback seems mostly related to first time pairing. I think might get one to have a generic code reader.
