UPDATE!!!

thanks for everyone's advice, took it to the dealer and the culprit was a bad relay for the air ride suspension,the compressor would keep running when the car is turned off until it drained the battery.It wasn't a bad alternator after all. I guess not all techs no about the air ride system on these cars after all,Dealer knew best on this call.

I bought the lifetime alternator (reman by Delco-Remy) from Advance Auto for $144 - because the core charge was only $24 - which allowed to me keep my old one for parts such as the great regulator contained in the original unit.

this reman works fine!

my original alternator died due to not fixing the common LS400 power steering leak - I put that repair off a little bit too long - lol
