Default new here and have a question about rims....

hey everyone, names Angel, from northern california. jus want to say it seems to be a cool forum, and alot of you have some VERY nice lexus'. hopefully someday my ls400 will be as inspiring as some of yours.

anyways, onto my question..... i just purchased a 1995 ls400, {currently in shop being painted pearl white, top to bottom, or else id put up a pic} anyways, i also purchased some chrome 18 inch rims that came off a 1992 ls400. i was told that in 95 the second gen ls' came with a bigger brake caliper and i might run into fitting problems.

i spoke to a technician at a local lexus dealership and explained the situation, and he said not to worry, as long as im positive they came off a 1992 ls400, they will definitely fit on my 95 ls400. but i thought i would still put the question out to you guys, because alot of you seem to definitely know these cars inside and out.

so, long story short, will 18in aftrmarket rims off of a 92 ls400, fit on my 95 ls400?? the rims are not "deepdish". theyre the type where the "spokes" are pretty much all the way to the front of the rim.

thanks in advance for any insight, and good to be here.

The fact that they came off of a 92 ls400 in no way garauntees that they will fit a 95 ls400.
They may have the same bolt pattern and everything. But the 95's brakes are huge and alot of rims, even most lexus rims, will not fit over the brakes.

yes it will come down to spoke design and offset. show us a picture of the wheels and we can guesstimate if it can fit.

there is no way to know unless you test fit them every wheel has a different back spacing.

Welcome to Club Lexus.

High probability is that these will not fit without a 15mm spacer. When it comes to aftermarket, it is hard to tell what will clear the big brakes. Now the exception would be if these are factory wheels from later model Lexus cars like the LS, 3-GS, 2-IS.

Hey, sorry for disappearing for a while. I had a feeling there still might be an issue even after speaking to the technician at the dealership. I'll do my best to upload a picture of the rims so you guys can get a better look, however, I'm the absolute least "computer savy" guy in the country. I have a pic on my phone, its how I'm typing this right now..... Let me try n figure it out.

unless its a well known brand/model, there's no way for us to know if it'll fit. stock '92 LS wheels definitely do not clear, neither do most aftermarket wheels.
