Default Transmission fluid change, is there a filter?

Doing some usual maintenance on the "94 LS w/ 80,000 miles, and next is the transmission fluid.

All the Serv Manual says is remove the plug, drain, and refill, and the refill is only 2 qts (?).

What about a filter, and all it takes is 2 qts, seems like another typo in the manuals or something.

Anyone change a filter or do you just drain the pan and refill?

Thanks

Default

The trans holds much more than 2 qts., but most of it in in the torque converter, and won't come out in a simple drain procedure- you need to flush it. Much more detail in other posts- do a search to get the full story.
