Default 97 LS400 Pioneer Wiring Harness

Well. I'm new to the forums but have been very appreciative of the help received before signing up. Although. over the past few days I've been looking I can't seem to find what I'm attempting to locate.

My boss is selling me his '97 LS400 and it has the Pioneer "Premium Sound" radio in the dash, but it has the hieroglyphic display. So I've been doing research as to what I need to know to replace the unit with an aftermarket that could save me money in the long run. but I'm having difficulty in locating a proper wiring harness. I'm not really thrilled about cutting the old socket off in case I decide to get rid of it down the line. Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?

I also took pictures of the plugs that are connecting the current pioneer unit.

Any help would be much obliged.
thank you.

Here is a link to the only plug and play cable that anyone seems to know about - yes, it is incredibly expensive. http://www.beatsonicusa.com/stereo/s...00-ls-400.html

Here is a link to some instructions to splice into the existing harness. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...995-ls400.html

Good luck!

You may already know this , but just in case... a less drastic option is you can replace the LCD display in that head unit for about $120.

Yep, you have to play to play just to get the plug and play harness for the car. Just hardwire it, it's really easy, but having the downfall of losing the sub since it's pre-amp unless you take the time to look into the wiring diagram and wire it pos-amp.

Check out the 2nd link in phlorida's reply. You won't lose the sub if you just wire the pre-outs as outlined by thebeeguy. I've done this and my sub works fine.

I did check that out but I'm really looking to wire the new radio up without having to compromise the existing harness or wiring just in the case I decide to rid myself of the car down the road. I won't mind losing the sub. I'm just looking to not cut the plugs out of the car and all that.

You can use T-Taps if you want to keep the original wiring intact. They're pretty easy to use. Here's a video that shows how to use them.
