I heard great things about this very affordable tires, brand is Mayrun anyone have any experience with this? $320 out the door for four new tires. Anyone have experience this tire brand on any of your car?

Are they a sub brand of Maypop?

I have never heard of that brand before. Is it a store brand? Sounds like a very cheap tire you put on a car to sell.

They Maywork, you can try them. I personally have never heard of them, and I have been in the tire industry fo about 8yrs now. I know china and Korea have lots of small tire companies. could be one of them.

It's made by a Chinese company ( hong kong) it's a DOT approved.

pretty much all tires sold in the US are DOT approved, doesnt mean it's good.

usually, and especially so for tires, you get what you pay for. but that being said, there's a HUGE range of solid performing, decently priced tires if you look at the nitto/toyo/hankook/kumho brands. Mayrun is an "off" brand tire for sure. would never run.

Keep in mind the "name brand companies" were at one point the topic of conversation just like this... "Michelin? ...have you ever heard of them making tires? With air in them??? They seem pretty affordable..." Yeah that was in 1888, but everyone has to start somewhere...the question is, are you willing to find out if their tires are flawed?

If i were you, i would go with goodyear viva 2 which only walmart carries. Thread wear on them is excellent, i run all of my small cars with these. Not to mention they're really cheap!

You know one set of tires I was really impressed with and the price was rather good, were the Hankook Optimo H727's. They are an all season tire that I put on my minivan that I used to have and they really performed fantastic. They are not a super high performance tire but their longevity, performance, and traction in both wet and dry conditions were excellent. I know consumer reports rated them just under Michelin's that were twice as expensive. When the Goodyear's wear out on my car I am going to go with a set of the H727's. Personally, the Goodyear's that I have still have at least 70% tread life but their wet performance and is lacking. They want to hydroplane much more then the Hankook's.
