alarm keeps shutting down my engine!
I just bought a 1990 Lexus LS400 and was given only one key, no remote. My problem is that several times I have activated the alarm and then shut down the engine. I have had to call a mechanic twice to come out and override the alarm and both times he has told me I will have no further problems. Now he won't answer my calls and my car is once again not running. How can I disable the alarm permanently and get my car running again?

sounds like it's got an aftermarket alarm, the factory alarm doesnt usually go crazy like that.
because it's an electrical issue i'll say go take a look at the trunk hinge harness, and then take it to a shop and have the aftermarket alarm removed (if there is one).
