good stuff, did you use the entire JDM (or euro?) mirror control set, or did you fit the folding button into your LHD mirror control unit?

Last i remember, the JDM version is swiveled to the opposite side of the LHD version.

Would it be possible to get a write up on this, very interesting. I've been throwing around the idea of some 460 mirrors with some block off plates. If could get a good wright up of this it would probably be easier to source some of the JDM mirrors.

Great job done I really like the way you did it with the key and with a manual option with the switch.

Lavrishevo: The total cost was $150 for the mirrors and the Switch panel. I also spent $30 on wiring and relays.

Install was something like this....... removing both front door panels which is a royal pain. Then removing stock mirrors, disassembling stock mirrors. using JDM mirror base with USDM housing(slight modification),
stuffed JDM motors in mirror housing.,

The key to all this was removing the pins from the mirror connectors so I didnt have to cut any wires. The real pain was adding 6 extra wires through the door cowl harness and routing them up the door to the mirrors. Remember the JDM mirrors are 15 pin while ours our 9 at the most.

However, swapping the mirror housing isnt needed but I did it anyway.

Shirkes330:
I got them from liCelsior, he had them for a while and never got to installing. once I got them I saw the hurdles, but I couldnt let the money go to waste.

PD: Great question! I thought I could swap the JDM switch into my car but it was slightly smaller and as you know meant for the RHD. It came with a cool push out coin slot directly underneath it too bad it couldnt be put to use.
As for the button, I had to dremel out an opening in the LHD switch. The button fit in the slot, it just needed the opening. I also used the ultrasonic mirror button but eliminated the feature so I could move the mirror angles to suit road needs. With the vibration module in the mirrors I couldnt move the mirror glass all the way since the USDM housing did not have the mounting holes.

Whit3boy: lol
Thanks for the praise. I believe the celsiors had the same feature when u put the key in the ignition. watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFlldrzg1DE

It is cool to see the steering wheel move out and down and the mirrors to fold out at the same time. Plus the cluster lights starting up tops it off. Amazing for a 20 year old car!!

I suggest you find JDM mirrors and locate the control module from Australia. It would make your life a lot easier. What do you mean by block off plates?

The JDM mirrors have 6 extra wires. 2 for the ultrasonic shaker, 2 for the mirror motor, and 2 for mirror position. the mirror position just switches ground from one wire to the other, thats the tricky part!! I used those two wires to control a relay to stop the mirror motors. Without them the mirrors would have kept going and going..

I included some pictures of some harder parts of the install.

There's a lot of work and planning gone into fitting those mirrors.
Thankfully they are factory fitted on my Celsior with the shaky switch as well although mine don't fold/unfold with the ignition switch they have to be manually operated with the switch but this could have changed on later models.
What is used on the factory fitted ones instead of the relays, another ECU?

i Just bought the mirrors that steve posted in that link. They are hard to wire up! i live in the uk so my car is RHD so i thought it would be plug and play but how wrong could i be. What type of relays do i need to make the circuit open and close with the button and close when i take the key out and open when i put the key in?
Would you be able to post what type of relays you had to purchase? Thanks Phil
