Default Question regarding camshaft position sensor removal

I have a defective camshaft position sensor that needs replacing on my '93 LS. Can it be replaced with the distributor in place or do I have to tear down and remove the distributor housing in order to accomplish this?

Well billydpowe, looks like it's just you and me. I went to my PNP today and tore in to an LS. Bottom line, you have to take apart everything surrounding the distributor, remove the rotor, cap and distributor housing. The sensor is attached to the housing. First time doing anything in the engine bay. While it looks impressive and tidy when you open the hood, all the plastic brackets and covers are a real PITA.
