Unhappy TRAC light on and Check Engine light on, please help

Hey Im fairly new with ls400 and this forum, but I'm hoping you guys would be able to help me out.

My Car is a 1991 Ls400
I was driving home and my check engine like came on and the trac/off came on as well. The traction control stopped working at the same time this has happened.
I went and check for the codes

For Trac I got 51
Check Engine I got a 71

Anyone care to point me at the right direction on what steps I need to do to fix this?

According to http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/intro/codereading.html , CEL 71 = EGR system malfunction

That could be causing the TRAC code.

at this point in time, no-one can tell you how to turn off the trac light, with out disconnecting the battery.
I am now considering removing the cluster and taking the bulb out....
cheers....

^ will do thanks!
going to be changing my spark plugs/wires and temp sensor. I read on lexls.com that cleaning the throttle body fixed the code on some, so i will try that one out and see if it helps
