So we have a weird problem on my mom's LS. The rear defrost works very slowly and after 10 minutes only half the lines are working. They're working in a weird pattern as well--random clusters of a few lines across only half the window don't work, or work incredibly slow. I touched the glass after it's been on for 10 minutes and it was still cool to the touch. On my Acura, it not only would have cleared, but the glass would be warm to the touch. The mirror defoggers work without any issues and I checked the fuse and relay under the main box under the hood and they seem fine. At first I was thinking a cut line, but it's unusual to have that many cut lines and have it happen all at once--It could have slowly happened over the past several months since it only sees heavy use in winter.

Any suggestions on what to check? It's going to get pretty hard for my mom to see what's behind her when she drives it.

polish and wax it, rain will never stick. but probably one of the strips is damaged and needs to be repaired/filled in.
