Default Greetings from Australia! - I'm looking for USDM ADVICE!!!

hey guys! and girls if applicable.

this thread will probably get my butt kicked because it DOES walk a fine line of an intro thread / spam.

HOWEVER - I'm Rowan, from Australia, I'm a big time Toyota / Lexus fan.. currently as it stands i have a late model black Toyota Soarer. it's modified ridiculously:

BLA BLA BLA bla bla.

Reason i posted my soarer (sc300... 250??? i dunno what you'd call it haha) reason i posted that is because that's the kind of car that I'm into.

HOWEVER i'm freshly single, and financially irresponsible.

SO

I'm looking to obtain a Toyota celsior / Lexus LS400

I'm contemplating getting a UCF10.. because over here in australia, that's the cheaper option.

however the more I research into what the members here and owners in japan tend to use, it seems to be heavily into the UCF20?

so my questions are, who's owned both, what's different about them.. they seem to look VERY similar to me, why does very few people use UCF10 as a platform?

can some of you PLEASE post the best best best UCF10 cars??? i know there's a pic thread a few threads down but im not about to wade through 200 pages of ucf20 / 21

=)

also... is UCF20 worth the extra spend?

I would like to see more UCF10 that look like this:

^^^ and also tell me how those crafty japanese folk have managed to graft the ucf20 vlene bodykit onto the UCF10

can you guys please help talk me into buying one???

Rowan

That, my friend, is a bad combination.
To get whatever answers you're looking for it would be easier and quicker if you search the forum, and the pics thread does give you alot of good ideas. Welcome .

well I would be no help.... I'm 43+ years married and financially dependent on my social security... so, as dean said, do a search, or hire someone to do it for you.

Cheers...

Yes... I should have added a disclaimer to say "dont tell me to search"

I don't want to search, I want to talk with LS owners and be told where cool parts get made etc,
Like I actually want to interact with you guys, after all this is a discussion forum, not a database!
Thanks anyway

I see your point but whatever you need to know, from LS owners, has probably been talked about many times in this forum, by LS owners. That way, if you search, you can also find what you need from someone else who hasn't been active for a few years or so. Ya know, people who have already gone through it. Plus you'll find more answers sooner instead of waiting a few days for one person to give you one opinion. It's just easier, either way good luck.

lol you used licelsior's car as your UCF10 inspiration

generally 10s are older, MUCH MUCH slower, worse on gas, and harder to find parts for than the later UCF20 models.

the UCF10 and UCF20 (and pre/post 20) models are all very different, with little being interchangeable. http://www.lexls.com/info/

You know I'm going to tell you to search and look at that big picture thread

HOWEVER I'm going to ask you to try the new image search tool that came along with our upgrade!

Use the big red search box, put in UCF10 and when the results come back click on the little 'images' link to get UCF10 pictures. It isn't perfect and if somebody has typed something with UCF10 near another picture it looks like that shows up too, but might find some inspiration playing around with that a bit and refining your keywords (ufc10 vip, for example)
