Default My baby broke her ankle...

Was at work today and went out for break at 7pm, was driving down to Mickey's to grab a drink when I realized summers over so no more cheap drinks. Turned my beast around and headed back the way I came and headed towards BK to eat something else, came up to a right hand turn when I felt a rumble then BAM! Car dropped 2 or 3 inches on the passenger side and I hear some grinding and scraping.

Can't see what snapped but I looked at my rim barrel and its totally ruined, all cut up by what looks like some sort of knuckle, probably my UCA. Would you believe I was standing out there on the side of the road with my 4 ways like an idiot (didn't have my phone) before anyone even bothered to ask if everything was all right. A total D-bag, a grown man in a Challenger was watching me then peals out like he was something special... Thank God a nice guy with Civic stopped by an gave me some help, a nice lady came to give me a hand too. Called a tow truck, dude was like "45 mins, need a deposit" I'm like "WTF!?" a stray tow truck driven a guy named Brain shows up and towed me home, awesome guy only charged me $60 (suppose to be $100).

Think I might have been cursed after seeing what happened to S30ZG, =(. Will have some pics up later.

sounds like the lower balljoint gave out due to age. common on the 2GS's.

Excuse my n00bness, but how much does this negatively effect turning? I'm asking because a few days before this happen, my cars turning felt stiff and the wheel wouldn't return by itself. Thought I needed some PSF, so I topped it up and the issue continued.

when the joint fails it's not unheard of for it to start seizing up.

this is why you always replace LBJs and check UCAs when you lower your car

Damn. Pics of damage? Did your fender get smashed up pretty good like mine? Unlike you I was lucky enough to have my wheel come out of the ordeal unscathed. After it was all said and done I think I spent around 7 bills on repairs including the towing bill.

After thinking it over I believe mine ish snapped because of 2 things ; my JIC coils we're banging the towers for about a year and I was running a retarded amount of camber in the front for 2 months before the UCA gave way.

Would you believe I had this crap being shipped =(. Had a lot of work I wanted to get done before the big chill comes, in Ontario (Canada) old man winter lingers for so long, it will get warm snow will melt and then he shows up one last time.

Pics are bellow, no serious damage like I saw in your thread X_x, all can be replaced and or repaired. I'll have a new barrel installed before refinishing my wheels during the winter.

Gosh, I must be weird... if I heard it banging, or my cars turning felt stiff and the wheel wouldn't return by itself. I would have to find out what is wrong before I drove it. Anyway, I hope you can get it fixed and back on the road soon, glad you didnt have a crash,,,..

Read through the lower ball joint failure threads on the 2-GS section. Scary and some of those failures weren't high miles or on modded suspensions.
