Burnt out Radio and AC LED lights
Folks,
I'm a new member here, but a long time lurker. I have a 1995 LS400 with roughly 229k miles on it and everything run great (knock on wood!) After hanging around these forums, I've learned a lot about fixing my car and now have the confidence to do some of the stickies on here (Engine/Tranny mounts, 30k tuneup, brakes, etc)
Now here comes the tough one - at night when my headlights are on, my radio and AC LED lights are burnt out. I've attached a picture here. I've searched here on the forums but wasn't able to find anything mentioned.
At first I thought it was only the radio, but upon closer inspection with the photo, it might seem like a fuse somewhere or some LED bulbs inside? Anyone here encountered this issue before?

Check this site out:
http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/light...klighting.html
It has a complete walk through with pics. It's the first site I found when looking for repair/DIY instructions when I got my Lex.
BTW, I have the exact same problem as you - no backlighting on climate controls and the shift lever. Just don't have the time as yet to really dig in and get it taken care of.

JNeezy,
Thanks for the link! It looks like an easy fix and I'll probably dig into it soon. Just wondering, isn't it strange that all of the bulbs went out at once? My first impression was that it was some type of connector/fuse that controls all of these bulbs.
I'll attempt this soon and will report back.
Thanks again.

Lexus backlighting ...
hi: went through this in my 93 LS400 ...
It was easily solved with the replacement of a capacitor which was located in the instrument cluster ...
PITA for the first time .... but what a difference to see all the lights come on ...
there are tutorials out there for this .... along with the spec on the cap ... its a surface mount ... so not too difficult to do ... or take the cap, the turotial and the cluster to the local computer ot TV repair guy and they can do it pretty painlessly.
Hope this helops
