Has anyone ever replaced the 8 inch sub in the back with aftermarket equipment.... If so how did the install go, what did you replace it with and how did it sound?

my stock subwoofer blew one night after a day of hard use.

by blew, i mean that it started making awful farting noises instead of making bass. i knew that the surround or whatever had detached at one point from the cone.

i drove around like that for a few days until i got sick of it, then i pried off the subwoofer cover and saw that the foam outer surround was actually in great condition and very pliable. the inner ring on the paper cone was detached from the center piece, though - was that what they call the voice coil?
my fix was to superglue the paper back to the coil. a couple quick passes to seal it up and it was done. back to excellent operating condition.
