Default Audio masters look here lol

ight so i got my sub and amp setup i had connected to my stock sound system in my 94 legend.

12in alpine sub
500w. alpine amp
power cord i hooked right to the battery from amp
ground wire
remote wire (had hooked up to my stock bose legend stereo)
rca converter (used the purple wires shown and hooked into the back speaker wires of my legend)

so basically, whats the easiest way to re-hook this stuff up? is it possible to get the remote from the stock amp to turn on my alpine amp and use the power from the battery like i did previously? and is there an easier way to get the sound to the sub without taping into the stock speaker wires?

when you have a stock head unit the only way that i kno of is by tapping into the existing speakers, best way i think is to just hook it up the way you described in your legend...or change your head unit, it will make your sound, sound way better..personal i've never liked running a aftermarket sub of a stock head unit because it dosent sound all that great, but i have hooked a couple up...never really messed with stock ls400 audio components beacuse i got my car with no speakers lol

some do sound good i admit, are ls400 is equipped with a factory sub right? if it does just make sure u tap into those so they send your sub the low frequency's, i did a install on a 05 silverado with the bose sound system...sounded like crap beacuse the deck couldnt produce low frequencys the bass was hard though but it was that sharp quick headache bass not that long deep bass if u kno what i mean...i say just go for it and see what happens its a pretty straight forward install if uve done it before

you need a hi-lo converter (aka speaker level input converter) to step down the amplified signal since most amps can only accept unamp'd feeds.

search.

Use your line out converter on the factory sub wiring. Since its only 1 channel combine both negatives and both positive on the LOC. You will have to check wiring diagrams for whatever year and sound system you have (pioneer, nakamichi, nav etc.). It will probably be easier to tap a 12v acc source to hook up to the remote in on the amp. Or, you can buy another LOC with a built in remote turn on but I havent had luck with those, on oem lexus nakamichi systems but they worked fine on pioneer systems.

Do not tap the back speakers, tap the oem subwoofer wiring and remove the stock sub all together. It will sound better with ventilation into the cabin.
