So, I searched around and could not find anything about programming a fob on my LS400. Everything I've read has been about newer models that have to be programmed by the dealer? I apologize for my ignorance, I'm just use to Nissan/Infiniti where there's a sequence of things you do in order to reprogram. I also looked around for a digital run of a factory service manual. I saw the link in the newb thread, but it was not really helpful.

It's still hard to gleam from the research I've done as well. Some say you can some say you can't. There's a pdf with steps for programming the 1993 GS300 that some said will work.

The other method I've read of is having to buy a new remote key with a new transponder chip and installing it into the Key Control Module in the trunk (next to the antenna.)

I can tell you firsthand that the 90-92 Key Control Modules and transponder chips are different from the 1993 Key Control Module and transponder chips. Different size, harness plugs and different transponder chip form factor.

I have a 93 and will be trying to program my new key using the GS300 pdf, but will have to fix my door lock actuator motor first. If that doesn't work, I'm going to get the harness out of an older LS and see if I can wire it to make the older Key Control Module work on the 1993, as I have a matching transponder chip that would fit the older Key Control Module.

Do you have a link to the PDF, or a copy you could email me? My locks function, trunk opens, etc, so all I need is a sequence. Just let me know. Thanks for the response.

I just have a fob, but I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for the info. If it works I'll make sure to let everyone know.
