Unhappy 1999 LS400 Bodywork

Hi Guys,
Have a quick question about bodywork estimates for LS400. Had a big dent in the front driver side fender and minor damage in the left portion of bumper cover. Car is gold/tan. Autobody shops need $2-3K for parts + repair and suggested to replace driver fender and bumper cover. Tried to look for OEM parts (front bumper cover, molding, fender and park light) online which already add to one grand at least (parts alone) but not sure if they will match the car color. dont have any idea about painting cost also.

Any suggestions for doing this cheaper? Any better online store for cheaper ls400 body parts?

Would appreciate your suggestions, thanks a lot.

Welcome to CL.

My suggestion would be to call the local wrecking yards. New OEM bumper is about $400, fender can put you right in that $1K mark. Junk yards will be fraction of this so call around. Shipping these big parts will also factor in so going local is easier.

LOLOL that parts estimate is nuts (if it's just front bumper cover and a fender).

OEM front fender from lexus is ~$350, OEM bumper cover is ~ $500. plus the trim and whatever else you can't use. spraying the fender and the front bumper (in 2 tone) shouldn't be much more than $800-1200 (on the very high end, realistically should be LESS)

Thanks all (Cashflo, RA40 and Puredrifter) for the information. That certainly helps.
I live in Huntsville, AL area and have a hard time in finding local mechanic/body shop that can procure parts and do it at a reasonable price. This place is loaded with big auto body shops that need at least $2.5-3K. I may also Nahville area.

Cashflo, i checked car-part.com. Would they match the color and how is their fair pricing? Do u have any experience with them?

Thanks.

car-part.com is a parts locator service, you put in your desired search criteria, and it will pull up a list of salvage yards that have indicated that they have the part you're looking for. They may or may not have listed a price, and you can call them to negotiate or request more information. Its a great service, once you get the hang of it.
