Default ls400 or es250?.... i ended up on a 94 gs300!!

Hello guys.. im gonna ask for some inputs for my simple predicament. First of all, im new with lexus world, i have been a Toyota enthusiast since i was a teen ager and its been our family's trusted car brand growing up. I now own a 2007 sequoia and a 1986 corolla sport Gts, you know.. the famous ae86 hatch. Recently i got a chance of having a 91 ls400 it was a pass on from a relative who does love lexus but have switched to practical suv's .. he also have a 91 es250 wich is in better shape than the ls400. Heres the deal! I can only have one of them. So i chose the ls400' been driving it for a week now and its really like living the dream.. but the dream quickly turns into nightmares when i had it checked for maintenance simple repairs etc... wow!! It can be a wallet drainer" do i really need to do this? I already have v8 sequoia who's gasoholic and a spoiled bratt ae86 that needs good moding and pampering as i do' plus now the ls400? I just need a reliable daily beater with a badge of luxury and prestige thats lexus has.. im thinking of driving the ls400 back to my relative and just switch it with an es250 thats been sitting there too. After all, i heard its a camry so its should be reliable and cheap to take care of? I heard about its rarity too.. old school plus rare luxury" i kinda like the sound of it.. she is like a little ls400 too. Thanks for reading my story guys.. inputs appriciated god bless

What sort of repairs did they tell you it needed? Any car with that many years will require some sort of maintenance work done. Some of the "bigger" repairs that my '97 needed include: starter replacement, egr tube replacement, and timing belt replacement. All of which costs hundreds of dollars to have done. I have a fair amount of mechanical skills, and did all the work myself. Also, I have a third vehicle to drive when repairs take several days. If you can't do the repairs and or maintenance yourself with the help of forums like this one, then you should probably expect to have to fork out some cash eventually. Sorry, I don't have any experience with the es250. Good luck!

Well look at the Very huge Pro of the 91. Its a Non Interference Motor. So if the T-Belt were to Snap you are Safe in terms of not needing an Engine Replacement. Not only that but the LS400's Ride and feel is much better than the ES.

I was considering an ES250 for a DD but it seems that the early V6 Camry's/ES250's tend to have serious transmission issues with high mileage.

LS.

those ES250s/2nd gen camry are reliable as hell tbh but the v6 makes it a bit of a pain to work on.

Congrats on the GS. Those 2J motors are very sweet. To bad we don't have you here but you have yourself a nice ride. Congrats!
