driver's door lock not locking
 

driver's door lock not locking when the master lock switch in armrest used. it quivers, like its trying to lock, but then doesn't lock. i couldn't find this in my searches. remote switch died years ago so that's not an option.

also, has anyoine gotten an aftermarket remote locking system? cost? easy to install?

Need little more info. Does it lock/unlock with the passenger lock switch or with the key in the door? It sounds like the electrical contacts might be dirty. I just saw another thread on this and the person cleaned the contacts and worked perfect. I can't remember who it was though.

it was me, and it has lasted over a year... it was my 99LS

if i took the PDL mech down that far I would just replace the tiny DC motor that acts as a door lock actuator... the GS guys do it all the time.

it does NOT happen when the key in the door is used. it DOES happen when the passenger side switch is used.

I planned on it, but it was working when we tested it, just was not getting necessary current to function.... and if it failed, I dont mind working with my hands, I enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together...

my driver door and passenger door don't lock but my rear doors lock not sure what the exact prob is when i push the lock and unlock button it moves but doesn't lock

your not going to know until you or someone disassembles it and LOOKS... it wont set a code.
