Beeping Noise From Left Rear Panel
Good afternoon,
I have a issue with my 1991 Lexus LS 400. Whenever I start my car, I hear the beeping noise coming from the left rear panel every time I put the key in the ignition (it's not the type of beeping noise you would hear when you forget to take your key out of the ignition). If I was to pop my trunk and then place the key in the ignition I can hear that the noise is coming from where the antenna once was (antenna is broken). Has anyone experience this issue and will this beeping kill my battery because now, the beeping continues even if I take my key out but if I start the car, it stops.
I don't know what to do. Please help.
Thanks!

my 91 only has 2 types of "beeps" one is the key ignition.....which only happens with the key in and door open.
the other is the sunroof tilt, causes a beep with the roof in the up position and key off.
the ignition switch could be faulty and still "seeing" the key in the tumbler.
the sunroof tilt might be a bit of a stretch due to a switch and a relay to trip the "up" alarm.
hopefully someone could back this up.

emarknot -Hmm sunroof beep, very interesting. Could that device from the trunk be tied in with the sunroof?
steve2006 - You were correct. I disconnected the device from my trunk. What purpose does this device serve and will my car be ok?
Thanks!

I assume you are not using the remote function so it shouldn't make any difference, there should be a remote on/off switch under the coin tray which when switched to off should have the same effect as disconnecting the module in the trunk
