Default ABS and VSC light

My 1998 has a soft clunk when applying brakes from the front drivers side I assumed it was strut rod bushings. Anyway yesterday when I parked it in a parking spot "tight turn" and returned to start it the ABS and VSC lights were on. The car drives just like it always has. The brakes feel the same. Any ideas?

The clunk and the ABS/VSC warnings are not related. A gazillion things can cause the ABS/VSC warning lights and most of the problems are unrelated to the ABS/VSC system ... defective battery, failing TPS or PPS, etc., etc. You might want to start by seeing if there any stored problem codes. Or reset the VSC by following the instructions in your owners manual and see if the warning comes back.

Thanks
I drove the car 200 miles back home after the lights were on with no problems. Strange.

Except that your VSC is really turned off. Having had VSC save my a$$ at least a couple of times, I think that is a bad thing.

first things to check with the Check VSC message is the battery/battery terminals/charging system.
