Default new suspension and still sagging!

Hi, im new to the forum and have found it to be really helpful. Im having a problem with my 93 ls400. Its sagging on the rear driver side. I just put in some new KYB struts and eibach springs. Now it was already doing this with the oem struts and springs thats why i bought new ones, but no. Im still having the same problem. I just need some help and pointers. Are there any body bushings on the car? That my be collapsed. I just cant seem to find out why its still sagging. All help is greatly appreciated!!

no, i have not added any weight to the back. and the car has a clean title. ive looked inside and out of the car and does not appear to have been in any rear end accidents. does anyone know if theres bushings for the body of this car? cause i know trucks have cab bushings. i just dont know if small cars have them too.

Mine was sagging and i couldn't figure out it. Turns out there were a couple of fat chicks in the back seat and one in the trunk. Have you done a fat chick inspection yet??HAHAHA

No the only bushings i know of are the ones on the control arms (upper and lower). Also your camber bolts could be out, however they would have to be really out to appear to sag or sqaut. Bushings shouldnt really cause sagging anyways...im guessing its your struts and coils.

Welcome.

How many miles on car?
How much difference is there side to side?
Did you take measurements prior to installing the new suspension components?
Did you check the thickness of the rubber boot on the strut hat?
In addition to the control arm bushings, my best guess is the rubber mounts on the strut hat.

Pics of car?

You have put in new struts and springs, and the car is not level.

Wheel alignment changes the ride height slightly (camber, caster, toe...), if not done already.

If you don't plan on changing the control arms or they are okay, you might then have to custom cut urethane piece to lift up the sagging side to fit below the spring.

Might give Spring Cushions a try?...

hey guys. sorry i havent been able to get on in a couple of days, i work a lot. but i have 163,000 miles on the car. and it saggs about 1/4 of an inch. and no i didnt take measurements before the new installation. and im ordering all new strut hats. i put a level to my rear wheels and the camber is off by about 2 degrees. i also checked my bottom arms in the rear and the camber bolts (if thats what they are) are off quit a bit. agian my right rear wheel is just about straight 0.8 degrees (negative camber) but my left rear has about 3.6 degrees of camber (negative camber). so do you think an alignment would be the problem? cause thats what im going to try next. and pics of the car i will try to get up today! Once again thank you guys for all the suggestions and help!

Mine varies in ride height all around. 1/4-1/2" is typical side to side. Only with adjustable coils will you be able to get it very close. If the difference is less than 1/2, I wouldn't bother.

I having this same exact issue. I bought a very clean 1998 LS400 with 122,000 miles. The rear left was sagging a little bit. I put new KYB struts and H&R springs and it still sags the exact amount!

The car has uneven corner to corner weight distribution. The measurements will be the same but 1.5" lower now.

it also depends if you preloaded your bushings properly after installing new suspension. it is ideal to tighten any bushings under normal load (when the car is resting on the ground). of course this is hard to do w/o a lift or rack, but can be simulated with ingenuity using floor jacks.

the arms are preloaded from the factory. over time as the bushings wear, the preload is lost and the car sags at different lengths. this is why annual alignments are somewhat necessary to compensate for these small changes during the car's life. less than an inch difference between all sides is negligible.
