Default My new ls :-D

Bought this baby('97) last Monday, minus a few tears on the seats/dash she is awesome.
Want to do some tasteful mods without going overboard.
First thing I've done(not pictured) is red out the amber in the tail lights.
I ordered some HID's for the lo beam and fog lights. Will take more pictures when I get them and install them.
I am looking into getting a new sub for the stock location utilizing my JL 500/1 amp I already have, but free air subs are looking scarce to come by. Might have to rethink my initial thinking.

Some things I want to do in the future are lower it with some 18-20's(haven't decided what I want yet) and drop it about 2 inches on some Megan LP coil-overs.

Let me know what you guys think.

Looks clean - congrats

The Megans are highly regarded on these boards, so you can't go wrong there. Plus, you can get them for a good price through some of the vendors here.

Thanks guys, I LOVE this car, I've never been so excited to get a car before.

wcoastls: Don't really like the clear corners in the front but maybe after I see some more pics of them i might, who knows.

Anyone know who gives the best deals on Megans?

python: I specifically went with then 93+ years so i could have duel front airbags, I just lucked out that i got a 97 which came with side air bags also for a good deal.

also does anyone know what Grey leather seat bottoms cost at the yards?(aprox)

Congrats!
From what I see of other LS's with HID's in this headlight housing, don't do it. Turns them into a blind-glare fest for drivers in front and oncoming.

Speaking of...that other Mike guy hasn't posted his beam cutoff from FX3's headlight project.

Wow, nice find. I just picked up a nice '97 too, but not that nice...CA cars hold up so much better. Also, I love your tint. I'll have to have that done before summer hits. If you find new wheels you like, I wouldn't mind having your old ones at a fair price. The salt on the roads here really tore mine up.

That's what I was thinking. That's one of the reasons I got my LS a few months after my granddaughter was born. They're so safe and I knew I would be babysitting, alot. Nice purchase and Welcome to CL. You'll find alot of helpful info with this forum.

yeah i did some research prior and i heard of hid's being like that, i was thinking of opening them up and sanding off the diamonds but i dont like the idea of opening up the housing, we'll see what happens.

BTW, this is where i came from

Started out with a civic when I was 16

lost her to a dumb old lady pulling out of the freeway without looking, nailed the back of her going 50 while she was going about 10 :-/

Then went to a g35 when i was 18

sold her to get my wife a newer car, she was driving a 94 accord(a beater) that i wasn't sure if it was going to last another day, we still have the accord and it still lives..some how. and she drive a '06 buick rendezvous
