Default Loss of Power Steering

Hello, just join this forum today. Have a problem with a loss of power steering on my 1990 LS 400 and would like some advise.
First off the car is in excellent condition with less then 140,000 miles. I bought it two years ago and it 113,000 miles on it then.
I put new front disc pads on and was bleeding the calipers. My son was going to pump the brakes for me. He turned the front wheel so I could reach the caliper air bleed screws and I heard a noise. I asked what he had done and all he had done was turn the front wheels as far as they would go. We bleed the brakes and when I took it for a test drive, I had no power steering.
Put a new power steering pump on. Still no power steering. But, you could park it for a few minutes when it was warm, then restart it, and you would have power steering.
After a few days, it did not have any power steering even after it had warmed up. I pulled the solenoid on that steering box assisting part by the drivers side tire and cleaned the screen. No change.
I would think that someone here has had the same problem. Can someone help me?

Or there's something tiny blocking the PS pump pressure valve - only takes a tiny particle - turning the steering hard one direction may have circulated the particle. We suspected this on mine as the PS returned to normal on its own and the problem started right after we installed a PS Pump that we did machine work to. But again as PD suggests bleeding or flushing the PS system may help, or it may fix itself as mine did.

Default Thanks

Thank you both for the reply. I will bleed the system and see if it corrects the situation.
