Temp gauge sits way too high.

The first two things I would look at are the ECT sensor and then the ECU capacitors.

I thought they are all talking about the temperature gauge?
The ECT and ECU really don't have anything to do with that.

Now the Coolant temp sensor, and the capacitors in the cluster may have something to do with it.

I guess some other important thing we all say ecu, and think Engine control unit, and actually its an Electronic control unit, and the car has a bunch of them.

When I said ECT I actually meant the Engine Coolant Temp sensor. I've seen that referred to as a common problem on our cars. I should have spelled that out.
