Default clamps between the springs

not sure what is it but i was looking at the springs/shocks and notice that there's two clamp look a like thingy on all four springs as if it's there so the springs won't compress. is this normal? i remember the previous owner saying that he lifted the car up, i guess that's what he was talking about.

Yes,,please do remove them. They are not unsafe, but from personal experience, make the car ride like crap. You SHOULD notice a BIG difference once removed.

Wow, I haven't seen those in a while. Back in the 80s I put those on the back of my '76 Camaro, raised it 2 1/2 inches. That was the s*** back then. One of mine snapped, wasn't a good feeling. I would take em off if I was you, they're starting to rust a little.

I imagine those things increase the spring rate terribly - I bet your stance will be much improved as it will let the car sag naturally with the springs.
