Unhappy So my Lexus is now a Gross Polluter...

I recently had to get my LS400 smogged (CA) and it came back as a gross polluter.

The engine light also came on during the test, and had the codes for the rear oxygen sensors and a valve in the transmission.

I have replaced the oxygen sensors, PCV valve and I cleaned EGR Vacuum Modulator Filter (as shown by LexLS! Thank you!). I will be soon replacing the spark plugs, wires, caps and rotor's.

Is there anything else I might do, look into, in order for it to pass the next test?

Thank you for any input.

Frank

my dad always said to get the engine really hot before testing; i.e. drive for half an hour before testing

my SC was also noted as a "high emitter profile"

@ LiCelsior, Lol - Could you imagine the look on the Smog tech's face? *Brap Brapt Brap* "Yeah I'd like to get my Lex tested." *Brapt Brapt* "What?" :P

@ jadu, Did you have to do any other maintenance than what I listed, and what you mentioned?

Cool, it passed. I had to change the two front oxygen sensors before I had it retested. Codes kept popping up.

I am back on the road again. :P

Those are the usual suspects to be changed when the car fails.

What brand of O2 sensors did you use?

The two rear sensors were Denso and a direct fit, the two front sensors were universal Bosch. I needed to get the front's changed the same day, so I went with the universals.

After reading horror stories about Bosch I am kind of nervous, but time will tell. They were a piece of cake to change.
