Question How to tell if I have Nakamichi?

Well I have a 1995 Toyota Celsior and looking to replace the OEM headunit with my aftermarket one. I don't know if I have a Nakamichi system or not because the previous owner replaced the original headunit with a USDM lexus headunit plus I can't read my japanese owners manual. I do have and amp and rear subwoofer if that means anything.

Also if I use an aftermarket wire harness will this automatically bypass the factory amp? I tried to source a harness locally but they all want $200-400 for the harness and I don't intend on using the oem amp anyways (replacing amp/sub w/aftermarket.) I'd also prefer not to hardwire the headunit harness into the OEM harness either. If you have any constructive input I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Not off hand, but I'm sure I could find someone's gf/wife that I know to translate. I was about to buy a Beat-Sonic SLA-21A kit through upgarage that ranges from 5,000-9,000Y. Only problem is after reviewing Beat-Sonic's website they mention it's not compatible with nakamichi systems. Still trying to see if there's any signs of a nakamichi system in my car or not. Thanks.

if the USDM one of the JDM one have "nakamichi" written on the face you have a nak system. if they say something like "Lexus Premium Sound" or "Toyota Premium ____" then they are the normal pioneer system.

Thanks pure drifter. After doing some more digging around my oem setup my headunit says "lexus premium..." Also after searching more on this forum and ebay for some pictures of the pioneer/premium & nakamichi headunits I found that the chassis harnesses are different to begin with. My non-nak HU has a grey/white/blue connector on the back of it. Looks like I just may go after that Beatsonic harness setup afterall!
