94 ls 400 swapping ecm

I am swapping ecm as I believe this is the cause of my problem. I read a post that had exactley the same issues i am having. I picked up the same number ecm. Is there anything special I need to do or can I unhook the battery and swap it out.

unplug the battery, swap them out.

make sure its the same year or series...
ie-89-92, 93-94, 95-96, 97*, 98-00.
*97 was an odd year, with engine controls from 95 and 96, but with an immobilizer system similar to the 98+

Yup - just did this a few mths back - swapped a '94 ECM from the yard for $25 for my '93 hoping it would cure my problem - no difference - so I have a good ECM on hand anyway - someday you never know.......
