You have air in the system somewhere that needs to be bled out. Did you do any brake work recently in which you removed any hoses or anything? Is it a problem that just popped up or has it been progressively getting worse?

How do your brake lines look?

is it worth it to go stainless steel brake lines or just bleed them? Mine are spongy as well

visually check the lines, if they're old and getting hard, or starting to balloon, SS lines are a good replacement for stock as long as you get good quality lines.

do the bleed first though, as it will let you know if the lines really need it, and flush all the crap out so that if you do swap lines, you wont get gunk stuck in your new lines.

start by
bleeding brakes
servicing calipers properly by lubing ( if not replacing ) all seals and wire wheeling sliders
look at the brake booster , if you press the pedal once and it is soft , if you press it again is it slightly stiffer and keep stiffening up the pedal with each depression ?
If so the booster has a leak .
