Default Weird transmission issue

I have searched the forums but have not found my specific transmission problem.

My car won't go forward (no D,2,3,L) it only goes into reverse. My trans fluid is good and still quite red. If i put in in drive and rev to 4000rpm the car moves a bit and comes to a stop. I've put the car on my lift, and when put into drive, 1 wheel spins and when pressing the gas it spins faster. But when put on the ground with the weight of the car on it, the car won't move whatsoever.

I have always driven manuals and don't know much about the workings of an automatic. Does anyone have a clue as to what it could be? I was thinking the torque converter can't transfer enough power to the wheels.

I have a 1995 LS400 with 400.000 km. You could argue that the car has a lot of km and the transmission is toast. But there are no smells, no sounds, no nothing that indicates something is wrong.

Perhaps one of the transmission control solenoids.

I don't have any of the symptoms that suggest it's a solenoid though 🙁
