ls400 navi removal
Hey i have a 2000 LS400 with OEM navi. would it be possable to remove the navi to put an aftermarket head unit and get the climate controller from a non navi and wire it up?

Numerous people have done exactly want you want to do on a 98-05 GS but I don't remember anyone doing it on a 98-00 LS. Several people have asked. If no one responds with first hand experience, see if you can get a hold of diagrams or even an HVAC control module from a non-nav 98-00 LS so you can compare the connectors.
I've seen HVAC controllers from non-nav 98-00 LS400 on eBay for less than $150 but haven't checked recently.
Do you have any friends with a non-nav 98-00 LS? It's about a five minute operation to pull the nav and non-nav units out of the center stack so you could compare them or even try the non-nav HVAC control on your car.
