Some can remove the bushings easily but IMO, a R&R of the whole assembly is faster. In the end, labor cost relative to part cost nearly becomes a wash.

on my old 97, I replaced them with Polyurethane bushings, pressed out and in, no problem. I also have a set for my 99, when it needs them... (no labor cost involved)

I tried to do that on my '97 last weekend. Did not work like I wanted. Could not get the old ones out. So, I went and bought new arms. Very easy that way if a bit expensive.

you need a press to push the old bushings out.

I was not able to get the old bushing sleeve out. You need some sort of hydraulic press to get it out.

I have a press available (business friend) and knowledge of necessary safety. It takes a good bit of pressure to get them to move.
