my 92 ls 400 was ran hot until it stopped . it has been locked up for 4 years . it want say a word when i tryed to start it a few days ago . should i get a new motor or can i save this one . what should i do ???

I would say you got water into the block and everything is rusted/froze inside. Sounds like a junkyard engine is the way to go.

Lucky for you, low-mileage replacement engines are cheap and easily found.

just wanted to say thank you to everyone !! there is some great info on this site so keep up tha great work . i found a motor for 1 thousand doller with 3yrs unlimited miles . unless someone knows of something better . just wanted to check before i got it . will order it monday unless i find something better .

You could do that or keep shopping around and find one for even less, maybe $400.

or you could turn the crank and make sure your moter is infact locked up and drain the oill and see what it looks like..............
