Help with leaking Fuel Pressure Regulator

ok, so my new FPR regulator on the front of the left hand fuel rail is leaking. this is the substitute for the OEM one because it has been discontinued. it came with an o-ring that i dont know where it goes. but i left it on the bottom threads below the washer (where it was when i got it). i screwed the FPR into the rail until almost seated and when it lined up with the banjo on the hard line. then i turned the locking nut until the washer was seated on the fuel rail and tightened to spec. the leak, as far as i can tell is coming from the top of the locking nut and not from any part of the banjo connection.

it is silver and can be seen in this picture

This is a brand new FPR...does anyone know WTF is going on?

did you replace the washers on both ends of the line that go into the top of the fpr? they are crush washers., like metal gaskets they flatten the first time you torque them and then are no good . my guess would have to see it to know though

yes, both the crush washers on the banjo on the hard line connection were sealed and not leaking.

this is what it looks like (but mine is silver). the 2 crush washers shown are for the hardline banjo connection. the o-ring is below the bottom washer as shown. the only thing i can think of is when i removed the fpr today to inspect for cracks i found that the oring had a rip in it. could this be causing the problem?

tried that. still leaks. the thing that makes me think it was due to the rip in the o-ring is because it didn't leak when i first installed it. im going to try replacing the o-ring today.

Update:

it was the o-ring. i bought a new o-ring and reinstalled the fpr and it has stopped leaking. it is disappointing that this little o-ring is the wak point of the fuel system, especially with my engine being supercharged. this little bugger could have caused major damage.
