i have a 91 ls 400 i inherited from uncle about 10 years ago.. i went to lexus.com today and found the service records i never knew existed anymore.. my uncle had purchased the car in 92. i saw in the dealer records a lojack was installed to original owner. i have never seen anything on or under the car to think it was there. im sure my uncle never knew either. my question is the lojack still good for subsequent owners meaning if i called police with VIN number would it still be located, assuming it still functions. thanks, jeff

I'm sure it could still work, but from what I've heard lojack is very outdated technology and isn't very effective anymore.

 

Pretty sure lojack can be disabled by clipping a single wire from what I've heard. That's why I've never desired to purchase it. You'd be much better off just installing a fuel cut switch if you're worried about the car being stolen.

And if the thieves decide to bring a tow truck, you're boned anyways
