Default New 98 LS400 owner here! Need a wheel suggestion. PICS-->

Hey CL forum, I am a new member here posting up my girlfriends new 98 LS400. We just got her a few days ago with only 70,000 miles! She drives beautifully, the body is in great shape (a few small things) and the interior is pretty minty

Anyways the only thing we dont like about it are the wheels. We're looking at newer OEM style wheels possibly. I wanted to know if the 17's from the IS300 will fit? There are some for sale on craigslist locally and I wanted to see what you guys thought, and if you have any pics for example of what they'd look like?

Here are a couple snaps of the new ride!

car looks clean but you got hosed on the wheels, those arent the standard 98-00 5 stars, they're 95-97 stock wheels

No, please search on which oem wheels will fit, the is300 wheels will NOT clear your brakes. the later LS430 18" 5 spoke wheels are very popular, as are the late model GS 18s.

Darn! I was wondering why all the other 98-00 wheels looked different. Oh well, we would probably change those out anyways too..

I love the LS430 wheels, hopefully I can find a set for sale at a reasonable price, or the GS 18"s. I just cant find any aftermarket wheels that I like enough without lowering the vehicle. Any input on lowering it? I would hate to change the way she rides so well.

We paid $6,400... Damn nice car for the price I'd say!

Thanks for the compliments.

Congrats on the new ride. You got a great price on it too, especially for the low miles.

Megan coilovers work well. Just a bit more expensive than springs.

Thanks guys! It always feels great to get such a good deal on such a nice toy. It of course needs a few things like WHEELS and the windshield has a crack in it but we'll get it all taken care of.

I have searched the forum a bit about lowering the LS and haven't read much about how it affects the ride quality. Anyone that can chime in on that for me? For instance the Megans, will they make it more bouncy like my Acura Legend when I put H&R springs with stock struts it rides pretty harsh after.

Either way I dont think my girlfriend will want to lower it, so I've got to find some wheels that will look good at stock height, hence the LS430 wheels I'd prefer.

Again thanks for the comments and tips for the newbie

I stole mine from craigslist for $350 for the set of 4. I had heard $900-1000 is normal for a set of 4. You might look for the chrome ones for your white paint, I like the hyper silver for a darker paint. Tint and some exhaust tips will by next things. I did the muffler delete and I recomend it if you want just a tiny bit more sound on hard throttle but none on normal driving.

KJ car looks good.

If you haven't yet take your floor mats to the carwash and wash them with the power sprayer they will look like new
