Okay guys thanks for the advice on my previous thread, however my problem was not the timing belt it was an electrical issue.

(Quick background) Okay, so I let my friend borrow my 92'LS400 for the first time. He tells me he is getting on the ramp to enter the highway and as he is accelerating suddenly he hears a loud pop, followed by all the electronics going crazy. As the car is coasting to a stop on the side of the highway the horn was honking non-stop, the wipers wiping and the headlight come on and will not go off. We thought it was the timing belt due to the loud pop and loss of power, but the mechanic tells me it was an electrical issue. He said that all of my fuses were burnt out and he replaced them, and then they burnt again. He tells me I may have some wires touching somewhere.

PLEASE HELP!!! I am going to take it to an electrical specialist, but I want to get some idea of what it might be before I get buried!

sounds like part of the harness got cut and is shorting a bunch of wires to ground. id check under the drivers side fender on the wires going from the fuse box to the inside of the car. that will hold the circuits for wipers and horn etc... also may want to pull the fuse box and look under it. prolly melted some stuff. and the worst part is it may have fried your ecu, whatever it was that caused this.

Check the trunk wires (hidden in the hinge on drivers side). If they look undisturbed then there may have been a couple that finally cracked and shorted. Strange issues with lights and power have been associated with this scenario that is quickly and easily looked into.

A car typical of this type of previous repair likely let the wires hang loose without tucking them back into the hinge as this is the issue. But some may have lengthend the wire and retaped and tucked to look as new.

Either way, quick and easy inspection.

yeah, but the wiper circuit doesnt run through the trunk. neither do the horns and both were going off. the problem is going to be in the front somewhere. reason i say under the drivers fender is because that is where mos the wires run for the fuses and relays and such. and if one harness is hanging down and rubbing on something on the suspension or maybe even a tire if the undercover was removed during a repair and never put back, it would cause tons of issues when it finally cuts through. ive seen it happen before. not gonna be an easy fix if it looks how the car i saw did. lots of wires will need to be spliced back together so lots of soldiering and heat shrinking to do. 1 wire at a time.

it doesnt matter where what is, its always a good idea to check the trunk hinge harness because the ls' electrical system tends to do very very weird things when shorting out there.

I'm going with a bigger wire being grounded... If ALL of the fuses where blown then something bigger than a 16ga wire in the trunk is grounding out.... I'd start under the hood. Alt wires, starter wiring etc... Also something in one of the junction boxes could be toast. could you get more info on which fuses where blown? Was it all fuses in BOTH junction boxes?

Also another way to check the other stuff is get a multimeter and a friend... start checking continuity between the fusebox and related part. You'll likely need a wiring diagram but for $15 you could sign up at TIS and save/print everything you need. It would be very tedious...

To blow all the fuses, that must be a nasty short. And since it created a popping noise and happened while driving, I'd say checking your wiring around moving parts. Wire harness could be left hanging loosely and got caught with moving mechanism, such as fan, pulleys, belt, etc and got damaged.
