Dogs are evil.
After hand washing and waxing the LS last night I was planning on going out this afternoon for a wonderful drive... What do I find when I go outside but the entire passenger side of both my LS and IS are all scratched to hell. Most of the panels look like someone took a wire brush to them. From the damage and bird poo the best I can tell is that a series of birds were on top of or low in the trees right around my cars and someone's dog got loose and clawed like mad at both cars to get at them. To say I'm upset is an understatement. So I'm out $500 to cover the deductibles on both cars, and at best I suppose I get a new paint job on each.

What the.... I've never heard of a dog systematically scratching every panel on a car.
That's really unfortunate. How bad is the damage? Do the scratches go all the way through the clear coat?

Yup that's possible. He was just using the car as a brace to stand on two legs to leap up at the birds. I was watching my neighbors dog, and he scratched the living poo out of my garage walkway door. Bummers. Weird things do happen. Even peacocks that attack door panels and peck the heck out of it..

Some of the scratches do go through the clearcoat. Called the cops... pretty sure it was my neighbors dog. Not much I can do about it besides that. Some of it may buff out, but I'm not 100%. We'll see after I get them into the shop tomorrow.

I'll have to try to get some pics up. Took them both into the adjuster today... about $2500 in damage to both - nothing much went through the clear coat, so I'll have them both hardcore buffed and a couple apparent dings will get popped out. Hopefully I'll be happy with the outcome... we'll see...

If anything, a clear coat blend/spray is in order.
