Default Best 17 inch tire for 1990 ls 400??

Good Evening everyone,

I am 25, I drive a nice mint 90 ls 400 with 117k miles..and if you look at this link.

http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

then input 205/65/15 for A
then input 225/50/17 for B

and then compare..

it appears they seem as though a perfect fit as MPH is off 1.47% which is exceptional

and the rearend ratio is nearly the exact same

I used to own a 97 rx7 so road noise is not a major concern

Anyone have any comments about this wheel/tire setup on a 90 ls 400??

I run 235/45/17. It is only 1.42% off, and is a more appropriate size for the car, at least in my experience.

Depends on wheel width..
I think on a 17x7 a 225 might be a little more appropriate
and maybe a little cheaper, not sure

but a 235 wouldnt be pushing it at all.

I'm running 215/55/17" Michelin Primacy MXV4's on my 91 LS and am very happy with them. They are extremely quiet.

I always forget about wheel width, I run 9" so it never occurs to me to run the lower sizes. I have seen on the wheel setup thread mostly 245's so I guess it runs all over.
